Overall, I have no intentions of recommending this hotel to another person nor will I stay there again. The location is not in downtown but directly north of it. While no request for a room type is guaranteed, it would be helpful if the front desk manager was nicer about not being able to honor the request. She didn't even... more

I recently stayed at this property for a business trip. While the lobby is just ok, and the pool is very nice, the room was really not nice. It smelled, and was very dated. When I asked for another room, they gave me one right away. It was in the renovated section, and was decent. The hotel is also on... more

I enjoyed my stay. Each time I visit the Providence area I make it a point to stay at the Providence Marriott Downtown. I especially enjoy the Wired for Business package – internet and coffee – exactly what I need to start the day! At check in Emily was extremely helpful and nice to see a welcoming smile. Very good... more

I found this hotel through Priceline and was happily surprised with every aspect of my stay. Although I lived in Providence a few years ago, I didn't realize what a lovely hotel this was until I actually came back to RI as a tourist. The lobby was immaculate and has a restaurant, Starbucks, and small gift shop. There is also... more

I have stayed at Marriott multiple times at various locations and always had a great experience, but not this time. Common areas were really nice - lobby and the pool area. Indoor/Outdoor pool open till 11 pm! However, cushions from the outdoor sitting area were taken away at around 9 pm, so we did not get a chance to hang... more

I cannot believe that most trip adviser reviewers gave this hotel a 4 out of 5. It is simply terrible. The air-con was out of control( turns itself on to high level sometimes), the food is bad, the toilet is dirty, and the internet connection is just slow( also Marriot promised complementary internet connection while you have to pay here).... more

We got this hotel for only $55 through Priceline, and what a steal it was! We were looking just for a one night stopover between a nightime arrival in Boston and a weekend in Newport. This hotel was perfect! Really we could have stayed much longer! It was very nice after a nightime flight to have a relaxing drink in... more

They simply shouldn't charge the same rates for the unrenovated rooms as they do for the renovated rooms. I stayed in an unrenovated room--these are the kind of rooms that give Marriot a bad name. The carpet was old, the armoire enormous, the furniture dated, the decor fusty and the bathrooms small and somewhat decrepit. The newer rooms, in contrast,... more

Our room was nice and clean. The room wasn't anything special, but the staff was very accomodating. When we checked in I asked if they could upgrade us. They put us on the concierge floor. They said that on this floor they have more renovated rooms. Also, there was a concierge room with refreshments, however, it was closed on all... more

Decided to go out to Providence for a Saturday night and rather than have to drive home to Boston we decided to stay overnight and got the hotel via Priceline. The front desk staff was helpful and processed us in quickly. The hotel appears to have been built in segments as there is a wierd hallway flow. We found our... more
