I have stayed at this hotel several times for business trips and I must admit although harsh, the reviews are pretty honest. The new rooms are pleasant and clean. They cost a little more, but they are worth it. (Not to mention the old rooms are closed down for remodeling). Currently the phones are not working. The hot tub has... more

I was actually JUST there and there are improvements ongoing so the older reviews here may be dated. I found the pool small and a bit chilly (but it is only May). The staff at the desk was very helpful and the rooms are in the process of complete overalls, I think they are half done. Nice large windows and... more

The front desk is nice but ill-informed. Out of three different families reservations, one was correct. Do not bother going through a travel agency because you will be charge for nothing; they will screw-it-up at the front desk. Old rooms share vents, so whatever your neighbor is smoking, you'll get it through the vents. The new rooms are nice, but... more

Chose it on arriving late in Tucson on the strength of guidebook entries and its good location just N of the centre. It was OK but has seen better days and the breakfast was not great (eg no proper fruit juice). The new management are trying hard but there's much to improve. more

I came across The Flamingo in Tucson, quite by accident late one night, whilst driving cross-country Albuquerque to San Diego (it’s located directly across the road from the U.A. Bookstore) Honestly, when I got up I thought I was in a time warp and back in the 1950’s or 60’s, because the motel has preserved intact, most everything from that... more

I wasn't able to check tripadvisor before staying at this hotel. For some reason it is listed as a good choice in my 2006 lonely planet southwest guide book. The place is a dump. Lonely planet has dropped in value from this recomendation alone. more

Do yourself a tremendous favor and forget about considering staying in a dump such as this motel. Their website is also very misleading. Their pool is ice cold year round and they have no hot tub. Also, a egregious cockroach problem. Staff is rude and unhelpful, don't simply accept my opinion, ask anyone who has ever stayed there. Tucson is... more

Our family from Australia stayed at this place one night too many. We sighted the Flamingo on the net and couldn't find any reviews. We took a gamble and booked two nights over the phone and they were very helpful. Arrived mid evening to find that our booking was not available and that our family had to be seperated into... more

If you like shady characters, worn amenities, cockroaches, showers where the cold water doesn't work (!), cigarette burns in your bedding (in a non-smoking room) and an extremely minimalist breakfast, this is the place for you. The only redeeming feature of this place is its collection of movie posters. I suggest viewing these in the reception before going somewhere else. more

Myself, wife and 13 year old son stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Tucson. I had found on the net only one comment which was not very good but it was posted along time ago and one of the complaints was dirty old carpets. On the hotels website it stated new carpets so we thought we would take a... more
