We stayed in this hotel for 9 days during march 2008. Have just returned and really missing the Amata and Ngapoli. The hotel is in a great location on a clean sandy beach and the staff make your trip worthwhile. The accomodation is very spacious and there are cabanas which we didnt stay in but outr room was great value,... more

MY TRAVEL STYLE: I hate business hotels and strongly prefer resorts that resemble the Four Seasons, Aman, and Oberoi but try to find similar properties at lower cost. I seek out the “wow” experiences and I encourage you to view hotels I have stayed at and their respective reviews (by clicking on my name). LOCATION: Excellent. On the most beautiful... more

We were at the hotel during our month long visit to Burma and we stayed in Ngapali for 4 days at Amata. We absolutely loved the hotel, we were in cabana cottage and the hotel had only a few guests at the time of our visit. Room was very clean with wonderful staff ready to help with anything you need,... more

We stayed in a second floor room with a view of Bay of Bengal. The room was comfortable, clean, had a romantic, tropical feel. Unfortunately, my wife developed gastroenteritis while at the resort. The staff were quite sympathetic to our plight; we were given unsolicited help from the resident nurse along with some medication. Needless to say, we relied on... more

The 15 minute trip to the hotel consisted of a commentory in very good English by one of the receprion staff detailing... more

We are just back from myanmar and have stayed 4 days in the amata resort. We have loved it. We had a deluxe room on the first floor, it was well decorated with taste. Breakfast is great and served beside the swimming pool with beautiful view on the beach. Prices are pretty expensive for myanmar at the restaurant and the... more

We had a great stay at this lovely beach hotel. It was very quiet: not too many tourists. Cabanna rooms were great with a living room downstairs and a kingsize bed upstairs. We also had a shower and a soak tub outside and a little private garden. Breakfast (outdoors) was great. We took our dinners in a seafood restaurant (2... more

The Amata is located in a beautiful setting and has been built sympathetically to it's surroundings. We stayed in a deluxe room which was most impressive - a/c, tv, cd, good shower and bath, mini bar etc etc. The rooms and the resort in general is not cheap by Myanmar standards but it is a great place to stay. The... more
