Zanzibar had been without power for at least 3 weeks and management hadn't thought of putting candles or a torch in the room. Indicative of their apathy. Dining room dirty and food below standard. more

Had an awsome time at Arabian nights. Being low season, we were the only couple there, staff brought all our meals to the room, they were always there to assist in really friendly manner - although nothing much else happening. Closest rooms to the ocean I could see along the stip at Paje, I would really recommend this - not... more
The rooms were spacious, well furnished and clean. [Management could consider changing the mouldy shower curtains]. Property on the whole was very pleasant and well situated. Small, private beach area was great. Restaurant was not good. We found Paje By Night on our first day and ate every meal there. [It's right next door] However, management was dodgy. On the... more
We stayed at the Arabian nights hotel recently and were quite pleasantly surprised with the hotel once we looked at the standards of the other hotels around there.(paje area) Check in: we came in and found a person sitting on a sofa and it was difficult for him to get up and check us in. Basically they get 1* for... more
the hotel rooms (bungalows) are clean and well maintained. The beach is not very crowded and we had a lot of fun in the bar nearby. Don't recommend the restaurant, even for breakfast. The service is veeeeery slow (OK it's slow everywhere - Hakuna Matata!) Good play to stay coupe of days after safari. Didn't try diving centre... more
We stayed here two nights after our 18 day safari in Kenya and N.Tanzania. It's a perfect, laid-back place to relax and enjoy the view or to use as a base to explore some of the island or to do some scuba diving. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Seaview rooms are spacious and comfortable. Food is good and... more
The hotel was in an excellent location, with great views of the ocean (if you book a seaview room). The service was very good and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. However, the food was not at all impressive. The breakfast was less than average (although the balcony setting was a super start to the day) and the evening... more
We loved the fact that it was a small intimate hotel with most rooms facing the beach. Location: About 1 hour from airport and Stone Town. Great beach. Walking distance to lots of other resorts and restuarants. If you're a keen diver, there is a diving centre at the hotel. Rooms: Basic but clean and comfortable, inclusive of kettle and... more
