I had been doing extensive travelling in Central America and my arrival to this magical place was exactly what I needed to relax and have a taste of what Costa Ricans call Pura Vida. The lodge has beautiful rooms where all you can hear at night are the crickets and frogs...the view from my room was the sea and an... more

Our week at La Cusinga was so good that we are booked to return the same week next year! The accommodations were clean & comfortable the food fresh, and delicious... from the chicken to local seafood and the fresh juices (Star fruit juice was amazing) much thanks to Rita and her crew. Fantastic location. Lovely cabin overlooking the sea. Great food eaten in a place that sits above the sea, too, so you can eat rice and beans while looking out at the ocean. It's magical. Big thanks to Roger for all his advice. And Rita for the food. Don't miss the trail to the beach - down some steep steps -... more

Our stay at La Cusinga was absolutely wonderful. A little bit of unexpected paradise. As with any rainforest it rained everyday, we lost power for a short period of time but that didn't stop the gracious hospitality of the staff. They served dinner as if nothing was amiss ~~ wonderful fresh caught tuna, all of the amenities plus a delicious... more

I really enjoyed the food, service, scenery and atmosphere. I have traveled to other tropical destinations before and I never knew that I could have such a different experience. The people at the lodge are genuine and are in operations for the purpose of bettering the Costa Rican environment. The rooms were clean and the staff was courteous. The view... more

For the last three years I have brought a group of 20 individuals from around the world to La Cusinga to learn about the way nature works. The facility is the most outstanding venue I have ever found and we will continue to hold our workshops there. The staff is excellent. Geinier is wonderful. John and his family have done... more

Bonnie and I arrived late and tired at La Cusinga after an arduous trip down the "under construction" coast road from Jaco via Quepos and Manual Antonio. Aurea and Allan were sensitive and understanding well above and beyond the call of duty to lessen our distress and make us immediately welcome and comfortable. Our cabina was so integral to the... more

We loved La Cusinga. The setting is spectacular, the buildings made with beautiful woodwork, our cabana was spacious even grand, with style, very private . We had a neat little sitting place, very private, looking over the Pacific. The food was good. The owner has a passion for the place, and for the environment. Go there! more
