We stayed at the Melia Cayo Guillermo from August 22nd until August 29th. We chose this resort based on the reviews we had read here. Naturally there were some great positive ones, and some not so positive ones. Our review of this resort will let you know what the REAL Melia Cayo Guillermo is like ... - Check-in: We arrived... more

Beautiful resort with gorgeous vegetation at about 45 minutes from the Cayo Coco airport. Great selection of local & international drink. Food at the buffet is average...like other hotels in Cuba. Resort is very clean except the room. Maintenance is done very quickly and the bedding was dirty…not only in my room (Hair on floor, dirty restroom, doubtful stains on... more

My husband and I just returned from an all-inclusive trip to Cuba. It was our first vacation together and our first time outside of Canada and the United States. All of our hopes and expectations were met on this trip, from the flight to the service to the food. The staff at the resort were incredible. They are so friendly... more

Our first impressions of the hotel were good. Reception is lovely and the walkways around the hotel are pleasant. We had booked a standard room and this was just as expected - clean, nothing special. It overlooked the pool however there were trees in front of the balcony so we couldnt really see anything. The first night we discovered we... more

We stayed at this hotel for a week leaving on the 19th July. On the day I write this - 2nd August I am still suffering from the food poisoning.... Hotel was ok - but its not 4 star. The room we were originally given, an ocean view on the top floor of the main building (above the buffet -... more

I had heard some very mixed reports about Cuba, mainly about food, so wasn't expecting much. Flew Premium with Thomas Cook - very average as usual, but a smooth and safe flight. Luggage came off the plane really quickly and the transfer to the hotel was about 45 minutes. The hotel gave us a very warm welcome and our room... more

Stayed July 18 to July 25, 2008 Room: 2207, Tidy, well cleaned, decent bath room, nice balcony. The hotel was only 50% full at best and this room was in the main building. Lots of stairs but I personally don't mind that. Beach: Best I have ever seen at a resort. Really a great beach. Ran on it every morning.... more

By far the best hotel on Cayo Guillermo ! I have also visited the Sol Guillermo and Iberostar, and I have no hesitation to recommend the Melia. The entertainment and staff aswell as the food were very good indeed. The staff made such an effort to add that personal level of service, it sets itself apart from the other hotels... more

Flight from YYZ via Air Transat was a normal flight. May i suggest before you board the plane, get something to eat at the airport, anything is better than the snack that they offer. Just a sign of the times for food on flights. The hotel, the rooms, the swimming pools, the bars, the beach, the grounds are all wonderful... more
