pros: beautiful location, friendly staff, delicious food, enormous waves, many interesting birds cons: nothing to do, no swimming allowed in the ocean, very hot with no a/c and intermittently functioning bedside fans, and huge mosquito problem hotelito would be nice for a couple of nights, with a big group of friends. my husband and i went with the idea of... more

Wow! We had seen some reviews and some photos, but Hotelito exceeded our already-high expectations. After arriving from a 2-hour drive from the PV airport, going through the Hotelito main gate was like discovering a Mexican eden... rustling palms, pounding surf, and an all-bird orchestra. Stunning location. Rooms are rustic but comfortable and romantic. We stayed on the beach side... more

This was an extraordinary experience in every way. As others have described, you have your choice of estuary side bungalows set on stilts over the water, or beach front bungalows set right on the sand facing the dramatic Pacific. I stayed on the ocean side and would do so again. The weather was perfect - warm days made comfortable by... more

I can't say enough good things about this place. We were greeted with hot towels and friendly Abdul giving us a tour of the grounds. The place was beautiful. Pictures don't do it justice. The area is on 40 miles of beach and just has an aura of peacefulness and love. The beach houses were the best as they had... more

This was the third stop on our honeymoon, in early June. This is the "slow season" so the first night and day we were the ONLY guests. It was such an amazing experience!!! My husband just kept saying "This is bizarre" with a huge smile on his face. As others have said, you either stay on the beach side or... more

Spent five days at Hotelito in Dec/2004, and looking back, it seems lika a perfect dream. Rented a car at PV airport. The hotel does have a shuttle service, but we opted to drive ourselves. We like the independence of stopping when we see something interesting, and driving in this part of Mexico is similar to driving in the US.... more

We prepaid for 4 nights and left after two. First of all, August is extremely hot and humid in Puerto Vallarta. The solar-powered hotel appealed to us very much and we, a youngish adventuresome couple reasoned that the heat would be bearable considering the saline pool and ocean breezes. BUT we were not (in our $600/night hotel room) equipped to... more

Spent the PrezDay weekend here & just got back. In a word: Paradise. Spent 4 days in Palafito #3 on the beach. It had an outside bed, perfect for morning coffee. And, a private outdoor shower. The weather was perfect, unrelenting blue skies, pounding surf, pelican patrols. To the east (estuary) "Eden", the beautiful estuary, birds, mountains, palm trees. Temps... more

With handbuilt cabanas each individually crafted after a theme of the Mexican lottery and each a work of priceless folkart, some on stilts whose terraces have breathtaking views over an estuary and natural reserve with thousands of birds, some on the beach overlooking the crashing waves and miles of empty sand this is a place to remember. Created with an... more
