This hotel is part of the excellent Parador network, owned by the Spanish government. The hotel is located in the small village of Arities, which is mostly used as a ski resort during the winter, but has beautiful natural views during the summer. My wife and I have stayed in around 25 Paradors in recent years and have always been pleased with them. However we were very disappointed with the Parador at Arties where we stayed in August 2006. The Arties Parador is placed is a the Aran Valley, next to Vielha and the main sky resorts. Spacious rooms with comfortable beds, everything is furnished with wood to achieve a "warm" atmosphere.
