I recently hosted a party in Crutches Hotel and what a fantastic night it was. Ron and all the staff went out of their way to look after everybody so well. The food served was delicious and the atmosphere was brilliant. Crutches has such a relaxing atmosphere, that it immerses you the minute you arrive. If you are looking for... more

I don't know what the Australians problem is, other than there is not a Travelodge nearby. Crutchs has a special laid back approach which you can completely relax into. Long live Ron and may Crutchs stay the same for ever. I wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else in Kerry. more

On arrival we were greeted by the hotel owner Ron who immediately made us feel we were on holiday as took our luggage and made us a great cup of tea, proper tea leaves ! We stayed in a double room. It had four poster bed which was really comfortable as well as attractive. We also had a veiw of... more

I was recently asked by a group of friends to organise the now 'annual' trip to Ireland. It ended with 13 of us booking into Crutch's for two nights...and it was the best decision I made. What a grand place it is, surrounded by hills and with the sea only a stone's throw away.I must confess to having had serious... more

Just returned from 2 nights stay, Ron was excellent, he encapsulated what a holiday in Ireland should be about, relaxed, good humoured and the Guinness was good. I would recommend this hotel for a perfect break. more

We booked accommodation for five adults six months before we arrived. There was a worldwide family reunion being held at the house, which happened to have been the old family homestead many years ago, and hence was the perfect location. Some 32 people from all over had booked including 12 from Australia. We had read the Trip Adviser comments and... more

If you want prompt service or to be waited on hand and foot, then don't go to Crutch's. However, for th rest of us who enjoy the relaxed lifestyle, the charm of Ireland and a good craich, then this is the place for you. I was recommended Crutch's by a friend, and was prepared to be disappointed. I was over... more

After driving for nine hours--from Waterford to the Dingle Penninsula this July--with several stops along the way--in Kilkenny and Kilarney, we arrived at the Crutch's Hillhouse Hotel. Of course, when we finally found the place, we didn't think it was it--the sign on the outer driveway simply read "Hotel" and looked like it hadn't been painted in 20 years, and... more

Hidden in a bosky dell at the foot of the highest and,it seems the narrowest, mountain pass in Ireland, this small family-run hotel makes up with its welcome and large comfortable rooms for what it may lack in trouser presses, jacuzzi's, traffic noise and general formula hotel trappings. Ron and Sandra, as well as various children, dogs and cats, make all their guests... more
