OK, chips and salsa are the first impression at any Mexican food place. The salsa was decent but the chips were really bad. Overall the food is mediocre and the place is hot and noisy. Probably not the place if you know and like good Mexican. more
It was good! A lot of food!!! We saw some interesting things on the menu and ordered some items that were not even listed and they were GREAT! more
For the past two nights, my wife and I have struggled to find a noteworthy restaurant on HHI, and we found it tonight: Mi Tierra. We both had the Chimi Del Mar, a chimichanga max packed with snow crab, shrimp, rice, and jack and cheddar cheeses. We also shared a side of rice and beans, a must with any good... more
Saw the reviews here on the site and decided to go... Waiter was great, but I didn't find my food worth the hype that other reviewers have given it. My carnitas were actually kind of bland, but my wife really enjoyed her meal (Pollo "Mi Terra," I think). The flan we got for dessert to go ended up tasting like... more
While honeymooning in Hilton Head, we ate most of our meals at more "upscale" restaurants, but went here for a change of pace and had a great dining experience. Good inexpensive dinners seem tricky to find on this island, but this is a definite exception. Our meal cost a fraction of what we spent on our other dinners and we... more

If you like hot and really flavorful salsa - ask for it - you won't be disappointed!! I got the seafood chile rellenos and my... more
Mi TIerra is hard to find, but worth finding. Very good, authentic mexican food, with a widely varied menu. Very reasonably priced. My only beef was with the Margaritas, which were obviously made with a mix of some type. A nice alternative to the many overpriced restaurants on the island. more
We love this place. We've been customers since this was just a small little local restuarant, and often take guests. If you like Mexican food, you will find the food fresh, tasty, and nicely prepared and presented. If you have a favorite dish not on the menu, ask. We've had the kitchen prepare a dish for a guest on request!... more
The food is wonderful here! If you are tired of eating "Mexican" food that all tastes the same, but is in diffent shapes than go here! It is fresh, authentic and the guacamole is fabulous! We can't wait to go back next time we are in Hilton Head! more
