Wonderful experience. Opentable reservation was honored right away, even though I thought when I arrived there would be a wait with how full the restaurant was. Service was impecable, food flawless. Restaurants like this are hard to find. more

The decor was pretty, a old dining car which has been added onto. The ambiance was soothing. The food was superb and the service was great. My fiancee and I went into the Sidecar on Saturday night and it was one of the best meals I ever had. They had a caviar like dish on the menu that was to die for! I almost wanted to order seconds. Our waiter was so nice and the owners were even sweeter. The lady owner had a warm smile... more

We have eaten at the Side Car several times, and been generally happy - we usually love the food and service. Our recent experience was horrible. My wife and I went to the Sidecar in Ventura for Thanksgiving dinner. Before the food arrived we were eating the bread. The bread was good but suddenly I got a bit of something that I assumed to be an eggshell. I swallowed some of it and then found more. I spit it out and it appeared to be glass... more

In response to the above review, we use sea salt crystals in our bread and on our butter. About once a week we have a guest that is unfamiliar with sea salt crystals, ask about the crunchy plastic looking piece on their bread. Occasionaly you do get a piece that does not disolve as quickly. My husband, an owner, did...

We chose this restaurant because we dislike eating at chain restaurants with oversized portions and lesser quality ingredients. We went to the Sidecar Restaurant around 5:30pm. We were seated immediately without reservation. We chose the Sidecar because they only use organic, locally grown ingredients in their dishes. Service was prompt and attentive. I was excited to see a restaurant put so much of their effort into their food and staff. The staff was friendly and the food was to die for! Compliments to the chef, hands down. I would recommend this restauarant to everyone I see. more
