Found Cooter Brown's by mistake. Went on the St Charles' streetcar looking for a place near Tulane, and couldn't remember what street it was on, so we headed to the end of the line. The first place we stopped at had just closed their kitchen, and recommended we head over to Cooter Brown's. And it was worth the ride. The... more

Dimly lit for good drinking. EXPENSIVE BEERS!!! Watch out for some of those import bottles that no one can afford...no one has had one in a great many years and that bottle has been waiting for you to accidentally pay too much for its' stale disappointing hops to beat down your wallet and taste buds. The sandwiches are fare in... more

Half-way through the game, the bartender turned off all of the TV's... more

They have a HUGE beer selection and the prices are very reasonable for a pint. Go to Cooter Browns and you will not... more

I read about Cooter Browns in a forum on tripadvisor asking for where to find the best oysters in NOLA. Well we went and were ecstatic. Our group of 5 ate 8 dozen of some of the finest oysters on the half shell we ever tasted at $8 per dozen. We pay $1.75 a piece at our local bar. There... more
