I would like to go on a cruise w/my mom next summer but it would mean minimizing my families annual fall break vacation, due to cost of cruise. What are really great ideas for inexpensive family vacation destination? We do own a timeshare week, so we could trade. Thanks in advance!

Cruising can be inexpensive if you time it right. We cruise once a year, and our budget-we think we've gotten a good deal, if we can cruise for $100.00 per person, per day, for the cruise. That includes your room, meals, and entertainment. You do have to have extra money though, for souvenirs, liquor, gambling money, and soft drinks. They cost extra on the cruise.

I would recommend you look for cruises that port out of New Orleans or Galveston, as they may be less expensive than those out of Florida.

You'd need extra money for excursions as well.
