hey! we were there in march and we had a great time. i too became very discouraged after booking and then reading the reviews. i feel some people forget that they are travelling to a different country and should not expect all the conveniences of home. do not worry, you will have a fabulous time if you go with the right attitude. some of the rooms have been renovated and the rest are being done this summer in their slower season. our room was one of the condo type villas which had not been renovated as of yet. we were not in the room except to sleep, so to me it was not worth complaining about. it wasnt a luxurious room, but it was nothing like what some reviews have said. i am 29, and i was there to have fun, and that i did. the disco was not very happening when we were there, but lots of people went into caberete to party at their clubs. there is shuttle busses to take you into town, or the bell boys will call you a cab for $12. we booked excursions at the resort through our tour comapany but i heard many recommendations from others at the resort to try mels tours in sosua. its supposed to be right where breezes shuttle drops you off, beside checkpoint pub. we had such a good time we have already booked to go back in november. why ruin a good thing? you WILL have a fantastic holiday, dont be put off with the negativity. your holiday is what you make it.

Take the shuttle to Cabarete. There is a great beach, lots of beachside restaurants and bars and at night they all turn into discos/clubs some with live music on the weekends. Lots of young folks (20's-40) partying into the night.

Hey, just got back Sunday. It had a nice time. It is low season so it was quiet on the resort but we were well taken care of and have no comeplaints. I booked excursions through Mel's Tours in Sosua, they went very well and would not hesitate to use them. Also, there prices are cheaper then booking through the resort.

ok all...enough making me jealous!! we have been back home for 7 weeks and we are going back to breezes in november. i dont even want to know how many days, i will just end up getting depressed! LOL!! you all have a wonderful va-ca!! cheers!
