RatDog, Bob Weir's solo project will be doing a four day stint at Grand Lido January 28-February 1 2009...much like Little Feat used to do their thing there - it's an excuse for us to extend our normal two month stay by a couple of weeks!

I love seeing Reggae everywhere in Jamaica but I also love seeing Rock n' Roll on the beach!

Oops, my bad, I was going on information I got from a source other than the RatDog site - indeed there are only 2 shows listed but it's a 5 day event.

I just caught a Phil show during his last run in San Francisco - closing of the Warfield shows. It was good but I'm a doggie through and through...

Free music always is best :)

I guess I'm corn-fused. I called the 877# for GLN bookings on the weekend and they said "no availability" for those dates... then I call the hotel & they say it is up to the organization putting on the show to set the price for and/or determine if they will sell day/night passes... told me to call back during the week to discuss it with Reservations Dept.

So today I call the reservations dept at the hotel & they say they do have rooms left but "not at liberty to say how many"... and the price is just slightly less than those prices quoted on the Rat Dog link that Rastagirl provided... also stated that they wouldn't know till near the dates if they would or would not sell day/night passes and that USUALLY if the hotel is sold out of bought up in a "block" rental then they DON'T sell passes...

Soooo, my question is for those saying you are looking to get a "pass"... please expand here or in my PM's as to what you mean. I would really, really like to catch these shows & don't mind paying for them but (and that's a BIG but) I don't want to pay $400.+ per person, per night... does that mean that I am just S.O.L???

Do you mean you're looking to buy a day or night pass or ???

Frosty, send another email to the Rat Dog organization. Ask them straight up if they will be selling tickets to the show separate from the vacation package. Obviously the head (GLN) and the butt (Doggies) are having a failure to communicate?

It looked to me when I looked at the site that the tix to the show were included with the GLN package price so unsure that separate passes will be available. Who knows though, they might be waiting to see how the packages sell (and they seem to be selling well?)

I'd go directly with RatDog on any/all of this - GLN employees might not all be "in the know" on this thing especially this far out.

When I get back home (traveling right now) I'll check with "my people" to see if the boys are only playing 2 nights or it the package only includes 2 out of 5 shows? Corn-fused on that one :) If indeed only two shows I too would love to know as far in advance as possible as to those dates - will help in the overall planning for the week my friends are in town.

This is fun, huh? Steve good luck to you re: getting yourself and your friends on the list.

To stay next door at CN during those same dates is $1900 for TWO people. If you can't hear the music to your liking form the CN beach and passes aren't available, I bet it would take a lot less than the difference in price to get the security guard to allow you a "self-guided tour." Just a thought.
