My boyfriend and I are going to Port Antonio this summer, and we absolutely fell in love with the Yahimba beach cottages on Long Bay! However, I read somewhere that these cottages where destroyed by a hurricane in October 2007, and that they are rebuilding them...

Does anyone know if it will be reopened until July 2008? If not, is there any other cottages in this area or other locations that can be recommended? We do want to stay in cottages located on the beach.

Photos I saw recently didn't look like anything was happening.

On the same beach you can look at Seascape:

..their own web site is down, not sure what that means but it appeared to be open from those same pics I saw recently.

seascape sounds like a good alternative, you can also contact Yahimba as well to find out, as last i heard the place should be ready by now (they were planning to re-open this Spring)
