A good fare is one you think gives you value. There's no telling at this point what will happen with fares but it seems a certainty that prices will not drop. Sometimes there's a fare sale, sometimes not. What's your tolerance for risk? Many people like to lock-in their expenses when they find a fare they can afford, others wait - and sometimes they benefit and often they end-up paying more. The Los Angeles > Acapulco route isn't particularly competitive, if I'm remembering correctly, and I don't think you're going to find much price competition that would bring down prices. Buy now, buy later - it's your choice.

http://www.farecompare.com/

This might help. You can select your origin and destination cities, then your month. It should display the fares by days w/in that month.

Realize also that the price of air fares right now is just like the price of gas . . . going up, up, up. My $600 ticket out of Tampa is over $750 right now for travel during the summer which is off season.

I am in SoCal right now trying to get back to Acapulco, and that $429 price is incredibly good.

Solis, can't you get to Tijuana and hop aboard one of the "budget" airlines that'll take you to Toluca? Or, have the fares on those/that airline(s) risen sharply, also? I think there's now a TJ/Acapulco flight on one of the low-cost airlines.

Volaris fly Tijuana to Acapulco for around 350 USD return. Might get cheaper if you're flexible with dates. Still, not a terrific bargain in my opinion.

Good find SteveMex.

The fare looks GREAT, some $100 less than what I'm ever able to find out of DFW! (That's why I just fly to MEX and bus it from there.)
