Modern Vancouver Hotel with Balcony and Great View |
|
What time of year? I'm a big fan of the Westin Bayshore where you can have splendid views of the water and mountains (but make sure you specify you want that view). On the seawall and set in Coal Harbour next to Stanley Park, has an indoor and outdoor pool, etc. I tried some July dates on its website and got C $299 plus taxes for a king bed with water view. The Pan Pacific is right on the water at the cruise terminal but I'm not a fan of it - cavernous, sterile, not my cup of tea. The Fairmont Waterfront is right across the street and is lovely. The Mariott Pinnacle would have some water view rooms. I haven't seen its rooms and am not a big fan of that area (a little dead at night) but you've got a short walk to a livelier neighbourhood. There's a start for you.

Thanks for the response. I'm going around June 10th, I checked out the Westin and it looked pretty nice. The only thing is it looked a bit older from the pictures I've seen. What did you think of the look of it?

also would be nice to know what water. There are fireworks displays during the summer over English Bay so hotel recommendation would vary depending on what you want to look at.
|
I'm not picky at all. | ||||||
|
IF you want to look out over English Bay, look up the Sandman Suites on Davie or the Coast Plaza on Comox. Both would offer suites for under $250 with balconies facing English Bay.

Although you say you're not picky about what water you look out over, there are major differences: If you look out on Coal Harbour/Burrard Inlet, you generally face north, away from the sun. You look over the industrial/commercial port of Vancouver, where seaplanes take off, where Alaska cruises depart, where freighters and trains unload cargo, where people moor their yachts, but where there are no beaches - simply the city is built up to the water, and then it drops off. The background view are the north shore mountains (Cypress, Grouse, Seymour). If you look out on to English Bay, you face west to where the sun sets. The scenery is sandy beaches, sailboats on the water, freighters anchored away from the shore, distant mountains, distant Vancouver Island, and the most beautiful sunsets available. As Davie mentioned, in the summer, on 4 nights there are fireworks. Then there's False Creek. Not many hotels are actually located on False Creek, but there are a few. False Creek is an ocean inlet south of downtown, north of Granville Island. It has a seawall spanning its entire perimeter. Lots and lots of boats, and it generally gives you a city view.

There are good suggestions-I like the Westin bay Shore and the Fairmont Water Front-I give the Fairmont a sligt edge,only because,of Fairmont's legendary customer service.The Westin-I would pickthe Tower-really nice.

Kimz I just booked the Marriott Pinnacle and got it for $100 on Priceline by naming my own price

How many stars did you put and is that location 7? Thanks a lot!
