First of all, the championships are in Coquitlam, which is a fair distance from Vancouver. The best place for you to stay might depend on how much you will be attending games and how much you will be seeing tourist sights. A reasonable midpoint would be a hotel in Burnaby. I believe that there are several near the Metrotown Skytrain station. Parking in downtown Vancouver is limited and/or expensive. If feasible, it would better for you to take the Skytrain into the downtown area. See translink.bc.ca/Transportation_Services/SkyT… Is your 13 yr old the one competing, or an older child who is staying with his team? If the 13 year old is not competing, check this website for youth activities in the greater Vancouver area: http://www.findfamilyfun.com/index.html.

Another option would be either the Executive Plaza Hotel in Coquitlam which is about a 5 minute walk from the skytrain station at Lougheed and about a 15-20 minute drive to your Lacrosse venue . There is also a Best Western Coquitlam that is about a 10 minute walk to skytrain..just down the road from the Executive Plaza. The closest hotel to the venue will be the Best Western Port Coquitlam which would be about a 10 minute drive. If you stay in Port Coquitlam an option for getting downtown is the Westcoast Express which is a commuter train that goes into Vancouver in the mornings and back out in the afternoon & early evening. The West Coast Express time table can also be found on the translink web site that previous poster gave you. There is also an Executive Plaza on the skytrain line near Brentwood station. All of the above would be a much easier drive to your game venue than staying in Metro town. As it is be prepared for traffic ..and if you stay in Metro town, depending on game time, plan on at least 30-40 minute drive time..it doesn't look that far but it isn't straightforward getting from that part of Burnaby over to the Coquitlam area.
