I have never had a bad meal at http://www.mcsweeneyarms.ie/restaurant.html and though it is attached to a bar don't let that distract you - the service is top notch.

I have not eaten here themalton.com/restaurants-bar/peppers-restau… since the hotel changed hands but I have heard it continues to impress.

Thanks tonyirish - i have done a bit of research on Killarney restaurants but it's always nice to hear people's opinions first hand! had come across Chapter40 and it looks really good but I prob wouldn't have taken much notice of the other ones you mentioned as they're based in hotels..thanks for bringing my attention to them though coz they definitely look worth trying! unfortunately we haven't the time to try them all so some tough decisions will need to be made!

Do want romantic, fun, nusic, quiet, Italian, Irish? e.g. for a nice middle of the road there is Robertinos, near enough th the plaza.
