I will be spending one night in wuppertal in July and part of the next day while ny husband meets with a client. Is there a recommendation for a hotel downtown or somewhere where I could walk or easily get to an interesting area with restaurants, shops or a site to see for the morning/early afternoon? |

In 2002 we stayed at the Mercure Hotel in Wuppertal. It was in a good location for walking around being close to the town shopping area. One of the stops for the Schwebebahn is right across the street from the hotel. The Schwebebahn is the unique public transportation suspended railway that travels above the Wupper river. I don't think there is another like it in the world so it would be a nice experience to ride it. The Mercure Hotel was fairly new when we stayed there and was very nice and the location was good. | ||||||

InterCity Hotel Wuppertal is a good Hotel in perfect location next to the train station and the city is . A very good hotel is Lindner Golfhotel Juliana , but is is outside , you have to take a taxi to the city | ||||||
