We were just there this summer and went on the Liberty nile cruise www.nubiannilecruises.com/egypt/Liberty.html I believe its managed by Sun Tours. It was a clean nice cruise...It says 5 stars..I do have to say the pictures must be of when it was brand new because its older now. But the food and service were good.

We're going on the Sonesta Star Goddess for our cruise. Traveling 5 star for 3 weeks. We were told to take the 3 nite cruse but only sleep on the ship the first 2 nights as the 3rd night is really to get the ship next to the dock. Our third nite we will be at the Al Moudira.

Hi, four of us went on a Nile cruise in October. We cannot recomend a ship, but can advise you not to book our ship the El Fostate, so stay away from this one. We can give you a few tips though. You may be asked for £28 per person for tips. This is not compulsary and please do not pay any money for tips until the end of the cruise. The service and food on El Fostate was second rate at best. We did tip, but only a fraction of what the rep demanded. The rep, from a company called Orbital also demanded £10 for the visa. They had got our visa stamps in advance. We paid them $15 which is the cost of the visas and they didn't like that either. Try and book all-inclusive, as food and drinks are expensive onboard, £3 for a bottle of beer and nearly £3 for a tot.

Hi there. I took a cruise on the Nile last year with Oberois boat Philae. I did some thorough research before i booked the cruise and as far as I understood things there are only two "real" five star boats. Oberoi´s Philae and anotherone namen Alexander the great. My sources told me that Oberois was the best and we were extremly happy about everything. I strongly recommend it.

We did not go 5* - took a felucca and LOVED it. Don't book anything with Kumuka or Go Tour Egypt - they are nothing but trouble and will keep demanding money for things you have already paid for. Urge you to consider a plain, simple felucca.

How do you book a felucca?

Hi, any ship booked with Egyptians is a big gamble..be warned..and read the posts carefully..some are downright dishonest.the nile is an open cesspit.most of the boats are filthy and staff ill trained. Most of Egypt is totally filthy and full of rubbish and poverty. The police are corrupt and openly take bribes. You will be pestered at every stop and every attraction you go to.Cairo is a dump.I have just returned from there. They misstreat all their animals to a shocking extent. hope this forwarns you. My wife and I have had five Nile cruises, can fully recommend PNC fleet. Tipping is customary, the ususal way is too put your money in an envelope, and give it to reception, this way ALL the crew benefit, you may also tips as you see fit to individuals.
