Just back from a great 4 days fun. Lisdoonvarna is a place where you have lots of dancing but is not for the faint hearted. If you enjoy life and dont take yourself too seriously I would recommend a trip there next year. Better then any tonic to face the winter, weekends are best

Glad you enjoyed yourself and I look forward to many more posts by you in the future.

I had the misfortune of spending a weekend in Lisdoonvarna some years ago, it was one of the most miserable places I have ever been to. Maybe it's improved in the meantime but I don't hold out much hope. That time I was there in June and I shudder to think what it's like in winter!

Clauds - would love to see you on a fishing trip, while on holiday in Lisdoonvarna during the match making festival - sure you'd be in heaven;-)

"I had the misfortune of spending a weekend in Lisdoonvarna some years ago, it was one of the most miserable places I have ever been to. "

You're holding back your true thoughts on this issue?

Really, I have to agree, and I can't point to a tangible reason why. I am just not a fan of that town! Apologies to all Lisdoonvarnites, or Lisdoonvarnians, or whatever...

IrishFan, I was trying to be kind to the place...

Ferdia, I have NEVER been seasick in my life, so a fishing trip sounds good as long as it would take me out of Lisdoonvarna. Are you coming along?

I'll go on the fishing trip but I WILL not eat any of the catch, I hate fish. I'd probably be the one who throws the catch back into the sea!
