Hi,

Does anyone know if there is another mode of transport from Voss to Gudvangen aside from the local bus that can ensure I am on time in catching the 11:30 boat from Gudvangen to Flam?

If taxi is the other alternate, would anyone know the cost?

That is some 50 kilometers, would cost several 100 NOK. There is a local bus at 8:45 from Voss (arrive 9:35) and an express bus that arrives at Gudvangen 11:34 (too late).

Hi Tina,

Take the 0845 bus as suggested by Oslo Viking. The Fjord is so nice you won't mind the 2 hour wait for the boat. Also there is a big tourist shop /coffee bar right next to the wharf which makes a great place to wait.

I checked the timetables again, there seems to be a bus from Voss at 10:00, arriving in time for the boat.

This buss (called 950) will drive to Stalheim hotel, at nice viewpoint.

Once in Voss, double check, better safe than sorry :)

Thanks Stanley and Oslo,

I am targeting the bus at 10 in the morning from Voss as I will only get to Voss from Bergen after 9 by train (can't seem to get to Voss before 8.45 from Bergen).

I hope to make the mad rush for the 11.30 boat... will definitely confirm when I am there again.
