We are looking to stay one night, but don't want to spend too much money. Are there any reccommendations for a hotel within 5 mins walking distance to Disneyland? We are trying to stay under $60.00. Our only requirements are: clean, safe, and a comfortable bed.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

During the summer months, I would be very cautious and suspicious of any place around DLand advertising a room for $60 or less. You need to be careful

There is a Motel 6 not too far from Disneyland that has a shuttle stop right outside door of motel. It is the Motel 6 - Anaheim Maingate on Disney Way. Very nice room. Not really a short walking distance, but the shuttle is about a 5 minute ride to Disneyland. The shuttle picks up every 20-30 minutes for 3 hotels, including the Motel 6. It runs until 12:30 am. Think it was $3 a day for unlimited rides. The motel for 2 nights was $152.92. Little above what you mentioned, but it was very nice. And, I definitely recommend them. Ask at the motel's desk for a pass to ride the shuttle. You pay the money to the motel and they will give you the pass for the shuttle.

blackbelt4dan...shame on you. She asked for a hotel's name, not a flippant answer.

I have to admit I found Chucks response very amusing !!

Depending what month you are going, the "Americas Best Value Inn & Suites At The Convention Ctr" have rooms mid week in November from $67 (cheaper if you are senior, AAA member or military discount.) Here is the link:

This is only 2 blocks away from Disneyland.

Hope this helps.

No need to get down on Chuck - I found Chuck's answer very amusing too (and quite true!!)

What about priceline? If you don't care where you stay but need a cheap rate in the Disneyland, it's probably your best bet - check out www.biddingfortravel.com and see what the recent bids are and what hotels were "won". You may not be within walking distance but certainly paying a rate of under $50.00 per night can be a bargain even if you pay for parking....

We paid only $50.00 per night for the Crowne Plaza in Garden Grove (plus resort fee) when we went last year and this year when we went we paid only $47.00 per night (no resort fee) at the Hilton Suites in Orange. We had to drive or take the shuttles but the savings made it worth it.

I prefer Hotwire to Priceline.

While similar, there are some differences.

What's the same, you don't know the name of the hotel and exact location until you decide to pay for it. Also, when you pay, it is non-refundable and all money is paid when you make the reservation.

What does Hotwire do differently.

They list hotels individually, so you can look at the list of amenities, and know what you will be getting, such as a Kitchen or Kitchenette. (Some folks can pretty much guess which hotel it is based on the amenities list.

No bidding, Hotwire will list the low price per night that they want, so you can go and check out the exact dates of your visit, and see the low prices that are available with no obligation, no bidding, no guessing.

I should also state that Hotwire is part of the Expedia, Inc. Family, as is TripAdvisor.

I agree with kelp fighter, lets be honest, at the low end you will find full time residents and 'working' girls, there are a bunch of low cost hotels in the area including the motel 6, don't go less than a motel 6.

I am only reading this thread to see if such a thing exists, now I can say with certainty that it does not. I can't imagine that there's such a low rate in Oceanside, either.

It would probably be helpful to know when you want to stay.

It is definitely easier to get a cheaper hotel room on a Tuesday in February than a Saturday in July.

What is the date?
