Hi,

Can anyone tell me the timings of CTM bus departures from Fes to Merzouga/Rissani daily and whats the fare like? Understand it's a 9.5hr journey?

Anyone who have taken the bus to Merzouga, can u share on your experience..was it ok, comfortable?

If I were to hire a taxi / car (with a driver) to take us there, whats the going rate like per person?

Thanks!

Hi

CTM buses are recommended also hiring a car will be the best thing you do while travling around morocco specialy to the desert . you may find some buses to the ergchebbi but you won't find any on your way back . the camionet goas 1 time a day .so hiring car will help to avoid that sort of problem .also it will help you to tour around the area avoiding ( the offers of the hotel owners -cos at the hotel they'll say hire 4x4 for day to tour around the dunes ...and the lake ...)

lot of us made mistakes and we try our best to show for the fellows the right way to travel .

a rental car in fes are expensive then other cities; and it will cost you 35/40/50€ per day .

i won't recommend to hire a driver or neither a guide . driving among the mounts views and the berber vellages is something you have to experience.

while you reach the rissani city try to avoid touts along the way (fake guides) . also be carefull about the hotel you'll stay at - a hotel may spoil your holiday -

also there is a chance to spend a night in a private hous that will make it cheaper 30€ per night for all of you ; i would also recommend Assou the local habitante for desert trip and camping in the desert .

let us hear your report whene you back

Thanks for your replies.

Neither of us drive so it looks like to hire a guide is our best option (as opposed to doing the night ctm bus journey which will mean losing out on the beautiful scenic drive to merzouga during the day).

I'll be sure to post a report once I'm back. Thanks again.
