I am going to stay at La Pirogue in Flic En Flac. This will be our 3rd year there and we have always stayed all inclusive. We are going to stay on a half board basis this year and was wondering if anyone has tried both before? I haven't really taken much notice of prices before as I have always been all inclusive. The travel company want about £1200 - £1500 more for both of us for 14 nights.

I have heard the drinks are really expensive.Does anyone know if you can get a full inclusive option when you arrive at the hotel as in an upgrade for a better deal?

Any comments appreciated.

If you think it might be cheaper to upgrade directly then contact the hotel for prices, I doubt it will be cheaper at checking in.

£1500.00 sounds a lot for an upgrade for 2 people to AI. I have done 2 holidays AI, the last time at the Meridien. The AI upgrade was about £880.00 for a family of four there.

I felt on that occassion we could had got away with HB. This is because we spent every other day on excursions (therefore missed lunch and drinks during the day) and we are not big drinkers anyhow.

Hi. Thanks for the advice.I may e-mail the hotel direct and ask the question. I am sure we could probably get away with half board too thinking about the extra we have to the breakfast and dinner. It's just the drinks side of things and you can monitor that.I guess if I work on £5/7EUR per drink I can judge it.It does sound a bit steep compared to your quote. That's the cost with Virgin travel company. Thanks for your help :)
