Help!! Cebu Pacific airlines, the only Phil. carrier to Hanoi, cancelled permanently its Manila-Hanoi route. Flights can be redirected instead to any of their international destinations, which include Saigon. I'm now considering rebooking to Saigon and travel by land through to Hanoi. Flying to Hanoi, although convenient and faster, is our last resort right now since fare from SGN-HAN-SGN via vietnam airlines is 3x more than what we originally paid for Mla-Hanoi-Mla.

So, i'm mulling about taking Sinh's bus tour from Saigon. Although just looking at the hours of travel (30 hours total from Saigon-Nha Trang-Hue-HoiAn-Hanoi) makes me tired already.:) Has anyone tried this route?

Any other less-expensive airlines that fly to Hanoi from SE asia? I could have our flights rebooked there then from there to Hanoi.

Thanks for your help!

You got to be kidding, 30 hrs on the bus. I do not know how old you are, but 30 hrs on the bus is the wasted of valuable vacation time. I recommend you to fly from Saigon to Hanoi, even though the airfare fee is very high. Enjoy life, you only live once.

Have a good trip

Oh! Sorry, i didn't make myself clear. It's not one continuous travel ride. It's an open bus tour offered by Sinh Cafe which allows you to hop on and off and stay on longer in a destination you want.

30 hours is total travel time broken down into the ff.: Saigon - Nha Thrang 6 hours; Nha Thrang - Hoi Ann 8 hours, Hoi Ann to Hue 4 hours and Hue to Hanoi 12 hours.

I also just found out that we can also take the train from Saigon to Hanoi but again will also take 30 hours.

I'm still not discounting the flight option. I've found a cheaper flight from Saigon to Hanoi via Pacific Airlines (Jetstar). But the open bus tour would enable us to see other places than Hanoi.

Would appreciate any feedback on this tour of Sinh's.

Hi Shoe,

I don't think changing the starting point of your trip in Vietnam will change the whole plan.

Either you start from Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi you can still carry out your travelling plan with a small adjustment.

You can travel with the Open bus of Sing Cafe for the way to Hanoi, hop on and off in Da Lat, Nha Trang, Da Nang or Hue... and when u have to get back to HCMC for the flight to Manila you can take Jetstar Pacific 1 way ticket.

I did the bus trip once in a while, not much tired and actually enjoy it ( maybe because I'm crazy???)

Have funs

you can fly with www.jetstar.com which can be booked on the net or when you are there I purchased Vietnam Airline tickets - Danang to Hanoi for US$56 - there are so many tour operators or Vietnam Airline offices that could help.
