We are also going to move to Bahrain and would like to take our dog. HAve you found a place that will allow dogs? What were the regulations to bring the dog to the country? Please help

I looked into this before I left the UK as we have a Dog and Cat.

It's a simple process to get them here as Bahrain is a member of the Pet Travel Scheme (Pet Passports), so if you are coming from the UK, all you need do do is get your vet to arrange the necessary vaccination (rabis) and blood tests and you are good to go!

It's not cheap though. I think ours were about 400Gbp each.

In terms of where to look, the biggest Ex-pat area's are Saar, Budaya and Janabiya and they might be more tollerant to having dog's. Bahrain still does not have the same western view of dog's as pet's, so this might have been a reason why they said no to having a dog(s). I am sure that you will find somewhere without a problem. Use an agent to help you as they are the experts!
