If you do the early morning trip, which I did I got back to Aswan around 1.00pm. If you do the trip the same day as you fly down from Luxor you would have to book flights to Abu Simbel that tie in with your Luxor flight which it should do. Not sure about your bags though assume you would have to take them with you. You can't book those flights until about a month before. You could also go by mini bus on the 11.00am convoy. Look at

It seems strange that you are doing the seven day cruise from Aswan, as a 4 or 7day cruise starting in Luxor would have been more practical.

I went from Aswan to Luxor when I did a Nile cruise and I think it is the best direction to do it. I've seen a few cruises advertised for 7 days, but they seem to be cruising for 3 or 4 days and then stay docked in Luxor for the remaining days.

I'm thinking about going to Abu Simbel this December (I wish I had gone last time I was in Aswan). I would be interested to see what other posters recommend.
