Has anyone gone on a tour with Adventure Falklands- I think Patrick Watts is the owner? We are going on a cruise and he offers a tour to Volunteer Point and the King penguin rookery at 1/2 of what the ship is offering.

Any thoughts or advice?

This is obviously late but it brings up an interesting tip/advice.

If you can it's often cheaper to book guides/tours directly with them as the cruise ship operators put their mark-up on top which for some operators can be quite high.

However because cruise ships book excursions early the bigger the ship there is more chance that all available guides have already been booked, so my tip is to act early in some cases very early.

As for Patrick he is a very respected guide and very knowledgeable.

Thanks for the input- yes, a lttle late as our cruise was in February. We did book our own tour through Patrick- it was amazing- and about 1/2 the price of the exact tour offered by the ship. I would highly recommend this tour by Patrick Watts.
