Glad you are coming down to Stanley this year.

Geting a taxi is feasable but I'm unsure of the cost Though I would suspect in the region of $10-$20. Its not far and if the ship you are on is in for the whole day you can walk both ways, though it will take you most of the day.

Just call into the tourist office which is situated at the jetty you come ashore at and they will pouint you in the right direction.

Hi Jeana. I have just spent a week in the Falklands with my husband who is serving in the armed forces there. We went to Gypsy Cove twice and saw penguins (magallenic I think they were, plus 2 king penguins), we also saw some dolphins one day when we were there. You can't go onto the beach but the walk along the cliff top is beautiful. The views are amazing. Gypsy cove is only about 4 miles from Stanley so shouldn't cost too much in a taxi or even a nice walk if the wether is okay. I hope you have a fantastic time and fall in love with the island as much as i did. If you would like to see some pictures of Gypsy Cove i would be happy to email them. Kind regards, JM
