Has anyone successfully purchased tickets online for Sky or Aerolineas del Sur? Both seem to require that you provide a Chilean ID number. Are there any Chilean travel agencies that can help non-Chileans purchase these tickets at the domestic rate? Or is it safe to wait and purchase domestic flights at the Santiago airport when I arrive? My husband and I want to take four domestic flights in late November/early December: Santiago-Calama-Punta Arenas-Puerto Montt-Santiago. LAN Skypass is not an option because we are flying Delta from the U.S. to Santiago.

Have you tried Aerolinaes del Sur at this site?

I haven't actually purchased tickets, but I went almost to that point and it never asked me for a Chilean ID number. Worth a try!

Similarly with SKY airlines here: https://www.skyairline.cl/

There a place where it asks for your passport, so I would think as long as you have that you could continue on with the purchasing process on the website.

Yes, I used the Aerolineas del Sur website, made the reservation, and when it came time to pay and enter my credit card information it asked for my "RUT". With Sky, the site itself states that the three cheapest fare classes are restricted to purchase within Chile.

I just purchased tickets from Santiago to Punta Arenas on Air Comet Chile (Aerolinas del Sur). I tried to purchase on the web site - on Friday - but ran into the same problem. At the end of the process I ended up with a confirmation code but could not make payment. On Tuesday I phoned the office in Santiago and asked for an English speaking agent. He retrieved the reservation via the confirmation code and I gave him my credit card info over the phone. The ticket cost for a one-way was $124 US where LAN was asking $420. Worth the bit of a hassle for a phone call to Santiago for that kind of price saving!! The price I paid was exactly the same as if I had been able to book on the web site. So, in short, give them a call, they are quite helpful. I had emailed Sky Airlines a couple of times and they always got back to me. In order to book with them you would also need to phone as opposed to booking online.

I called their office in Santiago at (56)(2)210-9000. The 600 call centre number didn't work, I'm guessing it's a toll free number that only works in Chile.

Remember time zones if you want to make a call to Chile during office hours.

I ended up using a Santiago travel agency called Santiago Adventures to book my tickets on Aerolineas del Sur. They charged me a $25 service fee and a 3% credit card fee, but I saved a lot of money compared to buying from a website like Cheapoair.com or from LAN. I wish I'd seen the post about calling the airlines in Chile before I purchased, but using the travel agency was convenient and easy.
