Our plane will land in Quito at 6:30 PM (we hope on time) and we want to go directly to Otovalo. Since we will have our grandson (age 13) with us for the first time and will have been flying all day, we want to have a direct transport via private service or good taxi company rather than taking a bus. Can anyone recommend a safe, reliable transportation method (other than bus) from Quito airport to Otovalo in early evening?

We are taking our grandson to the Galapagos and have two full days beforehand: one day and 2 nights in Otovalo followed by a stop at the Center of the Earth Science Museum for a few hours on the way into Quito the day before we leave for Galapagos cruise. Is there any other spot recommended for a youngster that would be of high interest?

Hello

If your plane is landing in Quito about 6:30 it will take you to get out at least 45 minutes, this is the time when most of the airlines from the usa and colombia arrived, so expect allot of people. I suggest that you should organize a private transportation. on the air port there are few taxis, but I suggest that you get a local guide with a transportation the cost is around $100 to $110, it takes about 1 hour 45 minutes to get to Otavalo. It will be better that you have a hotel book, on otavalo there are allot of hotels. The center of the earth and the museums are not on the area of otavalo so if you are planning to be with your grandson and take him to places where we can enjoy the area of otavalo offers walks on the region. There is a nice crater lake call cuicocha you can take a boat ride .

If you need more info and how to get the transportation dont hesitade to contact

Regards

AC
