Exploring Costa Rica Need Help With Panama |
|
As my title suggests, I am currently in Costa Rica rafting, rappelling, roaming and leaving no stones unturned. I have been here quite a few times now and have decided to extend my trip to Panama this time. The only problem is that I do not know of a reputable travel service down there. Any input would be greatly appreciated. If anyone needs a reputable service in Costa Rica, we have used Pacific Trade Winds the last few vacations. They have been very helpful and have surprisingly reasonable prices. Their site is www.costaricavacation4me.com . Anyway, hopefully this helps someone. Any advice that can passed to us about a Panama service would be highly appreciated. |

It all depends on what you want to do and your budget as there are a lot of good tour operators but some are more expensive than others and some offer more adventure type products - or you may need to work with more than one depending on the areas you want to visit. You can look at my profile and send me an email with the details of what you want to see and do and I can point you in the right direction. Cheers, Andrew

Hi Andrew, We are looking for adventure activities in the Northern part of the country. Our budget is around $2,000 for both of us. We are looking at 7 days, 6 nights. Thank you

I'll put some ideas together for you... Cheers, Andrew

Here's some ideas: Fly from San Jose to either David or Bocas del Toro. In Bocas you can snorkel and scuba dive, surf and fish. There are a variety of places to stay at all budget levels. Out of David you can visit either Boquete or Cerro Punta (opposite sides of Volcan Baru). Here you can whitewater raft, horseback riding, hiking (you can hike from Cerro Punta to Boquete, for example) or climb Volcan Baru, mountain biking and zip lining are also available. Again there are a variety of options for accommodations there as well. e.g. Los Quetzales has cabins right in the cloud forest. Also out of David you could visit Boca Chica/Isla Boca Brava area for fishing, snorkeling and diving. There is a very nice eco-resort on Isla Boca Brava called Cala Mia or there are some options on the mainland in Boca Chica. Let me know if you need help organizing any of this. Cheers, Andrew

You could also look at the itinerary that I have posted on the Panama - Before You Go page called Best of the country in a month. Pull some ideas from that and if you need anything else, just post again. Cheers, Andrew
