Hi Everybody,

I am travelling to Dubai in a weeks time and I was wondering on what UK GBP notes to take i.e £10, £20 or £50 notes.

Would really appreciate your kind advice.

Many thanks

The exchange houses will accept any of the above. Just don't change sterling at banks or in your hotel - you'll get a much better rate at the exchange houses which are in arrivals at the airport and at most of the major malls, ie Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta etc.

Sorry but I don't understand why you are asking about taking sterling notes to Duabi ?

The currency in Dubai is the Dirham

if you get a better rate in dubai why does he want to take dirhams for if he takes stirling he can change when he needs to and not end up with a pocket full ofdirhams when he gets back and get a poor exchange rate

I'm sure this was answered a while ago, but do they accept Scottish notes. I did change Sterling last year at the airport, but cannot, for the life of me, remember if I took all English notes?

My mistake. I agree he should wait till Dubai till he gets the dirham. I thought he was intending to take sterling to spend in Dubai.

They are sometimes a bit funny with £50 notes. Which is strange because you never see them in the UK but if, not that many of you will do this but if you change Dirhams into sterling in Dubai they always give you £50 notes.

Bizarre...
