The journey in to town around midnight will not take more than about 60 mins tops-after you have your bags in hand, that is. At this time I dont know of any service apartment(lower cost and preferred option) or hotel in the vicinity of the airport, so you may have to drive in to town for the short nap.

Thank you for your help. That is good news, just 60 mins !!! We are not in the 'first throws of youth' and after traveling 14 hours from England I had imagined having to sit at the airport for 7 hours !!!!! We usually stay at Picola Cassa Cottage in Bangalore....is that the right side of Bangaore to be nearest to the New Airport or should we look for somewhere else ?????? My geography of the city is not good. Thank you for your patience

Where is Picola Cassa located? If you have an address that will help, since I don't know where it is. If it is Casa Picola, in Richmond Town, it is not the closest location but with little or no traffic on the roads at that hour, a few extra km won't really matter.

Hi,, Cassa Picola is on Wellington Street, Richmond Road. Probaly as we are familiar with this hotel it may be ok to risk this location....it is just the problem of getting back to the airport....it will be a busy time then We fly to Goa at 14.30 from new airport. Yes Wellington St is in Richmond Town. You have plenty of time to rest and relax-from after midnight to noon the next day, so if you're comfortable with the place, go for it. It will obviously take a little more time to reach the airport with day time traffic as compared to midnight, perhaps a half hour more, max.
