Hotel on the Beach |
|
Hi, We will be going to Tunisia in September and plan on staying in the Hammamet area. We've been looking at some hotels and so far Les Orangers and Riu Palace Oceana look good to us but I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for a hotel in the Hammamet area that is on the beach, in a safe area, all-inclusive. We'd like to be able to easily go to restaurants and bars also. Any suggestions would be appreciated! |

Hi, I am going to le orangers in July and have chosen this hotel as it is on the beach, appear to offer something for everyone (activity wise) and had mostly great reviews on this site. It may be a little late for booking but I would be happy to let you know if I'd recommend it when we get back (23rd July) Best wishes.

Thanks for your reply, though we've booked something already. We didn't want to wait too long and end up disappointed. We went with Hotel Riu Palace, though Les Orangers was on my list of maybes as well. Hope that you have a nice holiday!

Hi, I know what you mean, nothing worse than waiting for your holiday then being disappointed. The Riu Palace looks lovely, have a great holiday. We're off in just over 2 weeks and I can't wait. Best wishes.

You will not be disappointed with Riu Oceana. We were half board and the food was fantastic. There is a very nice outside restaurant where we had lunch everyday. The whole place is kept spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are large. The beach is fantastic as is the pool area. The staff are all lovely and very polite. The only downside is that it is a bit remote. It is not close to any bars or restaurants. There is nowhere within walking distance in the evenings (you can walk to Yasmine Hammamet along the beach in the daytime). If you are looking for a lot of entertainment in the hotel you will be disappointed. They had some folk dancers on some evenings but that was about it. We found it very relaxing we enjoyed our evening meal and a drink in nice surroundings. You can always take a taxi to Hammamet if you are looking for more. Twigs

excellent choice! I wouldn't stay at Les Orangers if you paid me to, had friends stayed there and ended up moving to a more friendly hotel Sunbabe

Thanks for the tips! It would be nice to be able to be close to other restaurants but I guess we won't be. Oh well! As long as the hotel has good food and a beach we'll be happy!
