It appears that the best base for a visit to Cappadocia is Goreme. Reading a few of the posts it also seems as if the Kelebek House is quite popular among visitors.

We have been offered room 102 in the Kelebek for 90euros/night. Does anyone have any opinions about the hotel generally or room 102 specifically?

Are there televisions in the rooms at Kelebek? Are there internet connections in the rooms....hopefully wireless? What can we expect for breakfast?

I have also looked at the Kismet Hotel, which seems a bit less expensive than the Kelebek, but has no reviews on the Goreme forum. Has anyone had any experience with this hotel?

I am anxious to collect as much information as possible, as we seem to have a more enjoyable experience when there are fewer surprises on our travels.

We are also 'busy-retired'. We stayed at the Kismet Cave Hotel in June and would definitely recommend it. There is no television in the room - but there is no time to watch television as there is so much to see and do. There is wireless connection. Breakfast is delightful, served on terrace. Breads, jams, fruit, pancakes, cheeses. Why not telephone or email Faruk, the owner of the hotel. He speaks very good English. He is a local man who is very proud of his hotel and he can explain just exactly what is on offer and can recommend what to do and where to go. Booking excursions through him is a lot cheaper. Enjoy your stay in Goreme, it is an excellent centre for Cappadocia.

Hi Busy-retired,

I checked Kismet Hotel for you at "www.hotelscombined.com" for you. At this website Kismet Hotel gives 104 USD/night for 2 occupying 1 room, for Sept. 22-26. There are other less expensive alternative cave hotels also. You should get better rates by contacting hotel personally.Check the link:
