Hi, I remember reading about a Denver hotel that has top floor restaurant or bar open for non-residents. The bar has a view over the RMNP.

Any ideas on the name and whether reservations are required for lunch.

Thank you

It sounds like you're referring to the Peaks Lounge at the Denver Hyatt Convention Center Hotel. …hyatt.com/hyatt/…index.jsp

It does have the best view of the mountains near Denver (although not as far as RMNP), but it is only a lounge, open from 3:00 or 4:00 pm and does not serve meals. It's ironic that Denver doesn't have more restaurants that have a fabulous view, but we really don't!

Welcome back, Shaken. You've been gone a while.

RMNP is 70+ miles from Denver, no views overlooking the Park.

I agree, it's a shame that more restaurants do not take advantage of the views of the Rockies.

The view from the Hyatt is amazing though. Always a beautiful sunset.

The food they serve is appetizer/bar food, and drinks.

I'd advise dinner somewhere nearby (there's a lot nearby) and then an after dinner drink or 2 to watch the sunset... or visa versa, depending on your timing.

Theres also a few restaurants in the highlands, accross the highway from downtown, which offer a beautiful view of Denver, but not the mountains (Vita and Lola's) Vita has a great rooftop for happy hour.

HTH,

AK
