Favourite thing in Each Park |
We will be visiting Orlando in Sept and I was interested in knowing what everyones favorite attraction (except roller coasters) is in each of the following parks and why? Animal Kingdom, Epcot, MGM and Magic Kingdom |
hi, well where do i begin?! there is so much that i like but my favourites have to be:- Hollywood Studios - tower of terror, fast and thrilling. Fantastic because it's so magical and overwhelming Animal Kingdom - the lion king show, absolutely love it. It's upbeat, characters are fantastic and the circle of life act is pretty emotional ! Magic Kingdom - all of the nightime shows, wishes..spectromagic. Busch Gardens - the budweiser factory, says it all really!
Oh this is a really tough one, how do you chose? I'll try though... Magic Kingdom - Liberty Square. I know it sounds crazy, but I love the theming in this area and the Christmas shop. And the Haunted Mansion of course! Epcot - The Japan or France pavillion in World Showcase. Oh but I like Italy as well, you see I told you it was too hard to chose! Hollywood Studios - Tower of Terror. I know you said no roller coasters so I don't know if we are allowed thrill rides at all, but this is one of my favourite rides in Disney. Animal Kingdom - The Asia section, it's just so beautiful (wander off the beaten track and explore all the little walkways - we were able to sit on a bench and have our lunch completely undisturbed except by some seriously cheeky ducks!) You also get some amazing photos here. Well, that was hard. Ask me tomorrow and i'll probably give totally different answers!

my vote has to be Sourin at Epcot and as a family favourite Buzz Lightyear at Magic kingdom everytime. is it your first visit because you are in for a real treat. wendy27v

Yes - First visit ad we are only in Orlando for 1 week. I realise now that this is a short amount of time considering all that is available but as we are coming from Australia we also want to New York, San Fran, Vegas and Philadelphia. So I figure if I can find out everyone's fave thing in each part I can add them to my priority list
Animal Kingdom- Kali River Rapids, you get wet but it is so much fun as it turns and you know which seat is going to get it the worst and if you even funnier. Also Dinosaur if you don't like to get wet, I laugh so hard on this (we have a teen daughter that gets spooked no matter how many times on this) Epcot- Test track, I love the instant you go outside. MGM- The 3 D muppet movie, but I think it is a personal thing because I just love the two old guys in the balcony. It is not a popular one. Magic Kingdom- Haunted Mansion, the butler who lead us in on my first trip was unbelievable (he spooked me). I fell in love with this ride.
Magic Kingdom- The Peter Pan ride, probably because I remember feeling like I was really flying when I rode it as a kid. Epcot- Soarin'- amazingly realistic, joyful experience. I smiled through the whole thing. Animal Kingdom- Dinosaur - Fun and a teensy bit scary, as you're tossed about in the dark. Hollywood Studios- Fantasmic - Inredible show- Well worth having to show up 45 min before to get a seat.
AK - Safari, because it seems like you are in the real savanna with the animals, unlike at a zoo. Epcot - Soarin, because you really feel like you are flying, all the scents make it seem real (try and get front row so no feet are dangling in front of you) Love visiting all the different countries in the world showcase. HStudios - Husband likes tower of terror, not me! MK - Love Splash Mtn. and Pirates of the Caribbean.
Magic Kingdom- There are so many favorites if this is your first time. Of course, don't miss Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion. We absolutely love Splash Monutain. It is not a roller coaster, but there is one big drop. It is a flume ride. It is so enchanting inside. I am not a roller coaster person either, but I do love this ride. I guess, too, when you walk in, and see the castle down Main Street- this always puts a major smile on my face! Hollywood Studios-This isnt a ride, but the Stunt Show is very exciting! Of course, Fantasmic is fantastic, as well. Epcot- Again, not specifically a ride, but I love to explore all the different countries. I think Mexico would be our favorite. You go inside the pavillion and you feel like you are outside in an open courtyard in Mexico with a volcano in the background. There is an adorable ride in there (go towards the back to the left) also. My children always love Norway, too. They have a cute ride in there, too. All of the countries are special in there own way. France is cool. I love to go to the Patisserie and get some pastries and sit in the outside cafe area. I could go on and on! In the Future World part, I would say Soarin'. Get a fastpass for this when you arrive! Also, we like Test Track. There is one fast part, though. Animal Kingdom- We love the Safari. Go either in the morning or later in the afternoon. Do not go in the middle of the day in the heat, because the animals may be sleeping. There also is a trail that has gorillas. They are very cool! As you could see, there are so many things that are wonderful! You will have an amazing time!!
Epcot- Illuminations Magic Kingdom- Spectromagic Hollywoodstudios-Fantasmic Animal Kingdom-Finding Nemo the Musical (My answers for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom would be different if you hadn't said "except for rollercoasters.")

ONE FAVORITE? ARE YOU KIDDING?!!!!! Okay... Animal Kingdom - Kilimanjaro Safaris - I love that it's actually guided by a person, and not on a "track;" that it features real animals, not animatronics; that the vehicles frequently have to halt their journeys for animals to get out of the way; that you can get up really close to the animals; and the incredible amount of consideration that the Imagineers put into this, in order to create the illusion that the dangerous animals are right there with you, too. (Of course, they're not; like I said, it's an illusion.) Epcot - Ooh, one favorite, at my park of favorites! Okay, it's gotta be The American Adventure - this show, hosted by (audio-animatronic) Mark Twain and Benjamin Franklin, is quite simply fabulous. It tells the story of America, from the time of the pilgrims' arrival up through the twentieth century. Critics say it leaves out too much of our history, but, hey, it's a twenty-five minute show. I think it covers the great events beautifully. The sets and music are spectacular, and the cast of audio-animatronics are incredibly realistic. This show never fails to leave me in tears. And the pre-show, in the rotunda of the American Adventure building, is an a cappela singing group called the Voices of Liberty. There are no words to describe how beautifully their voices meld. Do not miss their show. On the other hand, I absolutely LOVE walking into the pyramid in Mexico. From the hot, blazing sun outside, into the cool, gaslamp-lit nighttime interior, with candles aglow on the tables in the restaurant, balconied over the River of Time, with a smoldering volcano in the background...this is THE place to be in the heat of the day. MGM (Hollywood Studios) - Has to be Beauty and the BEast, Live On Stage. A mini-version of the animated movie, with some of the best music and scenes, done with a cast of (gasp!) real actors. The colors, costumes, and sets really come alive at night, with the stage lighting. My daughter and I love this show, hubby can't stand it. Magic Kingdom - It's probably not the most popular choice, but I love the Hall of Presidents. Like Epcot's American Adventure, it's a historical show, with a twist - at the end of a film about our roots and growth, the curtain goes up to reveal on stage all of the US presidents. Audio-animatronics at it's best, as each president is introduced, he nods or bows, and George W. Bush and Abraham Lincoln give speeches. The amount of detailed work that went into this show is amazing. Each president was studied from photographs and/ or paintings and meticulously reproduced, right down to the fabrics in the costumes. Some of the fabrics were even handmade, in order to be absolutely authentic! Watch during the introductions and speeches; some of the presidents get a little fidgety, will sway slightly or subletly shift their weight from one foot to the other. I love to watch Lincoln while Bush is speaking. He consults notes in his hand, in preparation for his own speech! Amazing show, simply amazing.
