Inasmuch as the cost of transfers to most of the beach areas (40/min-1+/hr drives) are costing anywhere from $50 to $75, guess $20 even for the short 10-15/min drive from ZNZ to Stone Town seems reasonable. Fuel costs have increased here also, so is impacting the price of everything.

Of course, you can always hire a taxi driver on arrival if you don't mind having to negotiate and hassle in the heat/humidity. Might get it for half.

I prefer to know someone is waiting for me, with my name on a placard and avoid the hassles.

that seems to be the going rate from the airport to stonetown. Have been there twice in two years---paid $20 USD each time.
