In May 2006, our hotel , the Radisson- recommended a great restaurant down the street. We drove but you could walk if you are up for that! This steakhouse is in a historic building and also houses another bar, as well as some apartments. It's near the river but no real view of it... The Oliver House Restaurant Complex-

Rockwell's Maumee Bay Brewing Company at 27 Broadway, Toledo, OH 43604 call 419-241-1253. And make sure that you get their shrimp cocktail served in a special way with dry ice and hot water flowing from the dish! The decor is kinda eclectic... tall ceilings, exposed brick wall & plaster, rich draperies and upholestry fabrics...Also ask for a cozy booth. I didn't turn up a lot of choices on my internet search so this was a real surprise! And west of downtown near the mall (maybe 12 miles) was Bravos and

Clauddaugh's Irish Pub.... Enjoy!

What a pleasant surprise! I have lived in the Toledo area for more years than I would like to mention, and I really enjoyed my first meal at Rockwell's. We made reservations for an early Saturday night dinner. The Oliver House is home to two other establishments. The Maumee Bay Brewing Company and Mugsy's, a sports bar. I was confused where to park, so we stopped in one of the other places. They called for our own personal escort to take us to the restaurant. This was great fun because we received our own guided tour, and learned the history as we traveled through the building to the entrance to Rockwell's. It is a short elevator ride up to the top floor. The restaurant has large windows and brick exposed walls. We were seated at a quiet booth, and had a wonderfully delicious meal. They are known for their steaks, but don't overlook the seafood entrees, they were delicious. It was pricey, but quality and quantity made it worth the money. We will definitely be back!

It is a fabulous restaurant. Definitely worth the trip downtown. While there are a lot of good things about Bravo and Claddagh, they are both chains, and I hesitate to suggest them as choices for a dinner out in Toledo. They are also at the mall.

Try The Beirut, Byblos, Avenue Bistro, Stella's, Kotobuki, Navy Bistro, Rouge Bistro or Poco Piatti first.

Just checked. I can get the Radisson for $119 on a thursday night. sounds like a fair price for downtown. is this the right Radisson your talking about, North Summit st? Thanks. ITS. PS looking foreward to that shrimp cocktail being washed down by various amounts of different micro bees! Life is good.

No. The Days Inn on Miami St is not a safe walk from Maumee Bay. In fact, the Days Inn itself is not safe, but I digress. You are on the wrong side of the river. Definately don't want to walk.
