Am planning on visiting San Francisco in Sept,2009.

Can anyone recommend a good safe reasonably priced hotel close to city centre ,I dont mind walking though.

Well, you are certainly planning well in advance.

Good on you.

We probably need more info from you. "reasonably priced" can mean a whole lot of different things to different people. Can you give us a rough guide to the budget you have any preference to type of hotel.

Union Square is where you want to stay in my opinion.

It is basically the city centre , safe, lots of hotels, lots of restaurants and shopping and pretty much the hub of all the transport systems you will want to use.
