We are coming to New Orleans to celebrate a 40th birthday. I have stayed at The Omni Royal before and enjoyed it. I have seen some great reviews on The Loews Hotel and I like the extra space. How far is The Loews from the French Quarter? Is it worth the chnage from The Omni Royal? |

I would stay at the Omni because of its location and "charm" but the Loews is a very nice property as well. Loews is only 3 blocks from Canal/Decatur. | ||||||

That's a tough choice. Personally, I think the Loews is a better overall hotel than the Omni Royal Orleans, and if you haven't stayed there before then I would go with the Loews. Plus, the Warehouse District has a ton of excellent restaurants, and you'd be right across from Harrah's too. If you were a first time visitor to New Orleans, then I would have said stay in the Omni Royal Orleans to be in the heart of the French Quarter. But, you've stayed at the hotel before, and as stated previously, at the Loews you'll only be a few blocks away from the Quarter anyway. | ||||||

I second the Loews. We've stayed there & it was very nice & not too far from FQ--we walked there & back. | ||||||
