We have two boys, 19 and 15. Our 19 year old is apprehensive about coming on this trip. We will only be in Estes Park for 4 days. They do not like sports. What are some fun ideas to make this memorable? Thanks!

There are many nice hikes in the RMNP. Even if they are not into sports, hiking in the mountains is different. Plenty of wildlife and scenery.

My son brings his camera and video cam with him to document the trip. Maybe the guys can make a video about the trip to put on uTube.

A visit to the Stanley Hotel in Estes the movie the Shining was partially filmed here.

I have a 13 year old and I'm a high school teacher, so I feel your pain, lol!!

I know you said they do not like "sports" but how about going river rafting? There are several companies that do guided trips out of Estes. The trips generally take some travel time but the companies bus riders to the drop location. Companies typically offer full day and half day options.

What are their interests? That might help with suggestions.

Oh and it seems like kids of all ages like the go-carts, bumper boats etc.

I just thought of an idea...

Maybe a trip to Boulder, home of the University of Colorado! If your kids are interesting in academics, this is a great place. Walk around campus, have lunch somewhere in town and visit the Pearl Street Mall.

What activities do they enjoy?

Estes Park is a very family oriented town.

Agree with the day trip to Boulder and river rafting.
