Age of majority in Puerto Rico is 18. You are legal. Hit the casino, walk to the other hotels and enjoy the shops along Isle Blvd. There is a police presense along the beach. Sand fleas are out, you would get bit up. I have walked the beach at night. There are a lot of things going on.

You can drink and do everything you could do back home at 21.

The drinking age in Puerto Rico is 18.

Also, go out, hit the streets, meet people... it is safe all along those tourist areas. You will see a large police presence.

So go out and enjoy being legal!

thats great to hear! now im excited! are most of the stores 7 days a week? or are they usually closed on sundays? especially OSJ... oh and any nightclubs/ lounge that i should check out?

My 20 year old daughter was in PR a few months ago and enjoyed the nightlife.

You are staying at the hotel that has the best nightclub in PR - Club Brava ( she goes to school in NYC and Brava gives NYC's clubs a run for the money ). Also you can check out the following:

Wet at the Water Club hotel - it is a nice roof top club 2 blocks from the El San Juan.

Club Lazar in Old San Juan. Don't do this one alone ( ok, that is my parent side talking ).

La Concha in Condado - great hotel lobby bar with a DJ Thursday through Sunday. Lots of young people, and even some old ones like myself. Even though it is a lobby bar, it feels like a club and doesn't get going until after 11:00. Nice setting and you can go solo.
