We are travelling to the island in mid April, and wonder if there is a tour of the brewery offered.

Staying at Coconut Bay, we are also wondering if there is a nice restaurant offered locally for a change up from the All Inclusive format.

When we travel, we like to go offsite at least once for dinner and experience the local cuisine and folks.

Not too crazy about travelling that far to find a nice spot, ie Castries.

As well, I've read all the postings on the duty free shops and the various retail outlets, but is there a local honest reliable jeweller who can offer something unique and reasonably priced rather than the "pizza conglomerate" types that all have the same thing at sky high prices?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Just west of Vieux Fort, between Laborie and Choiseul is a great restaurant called Debbies. Great food!.

Further west, on the road to Jalousie is Marthas Tables, my favourite;

These are both local restaurants, for inferior food and higher prices you can always go to Ladera or Jalousie.

Thank you for the recommendations!!

Which one was the "nicer" ?

I'd like to go out to lunch to a special spot, as I will also be celebrating a birthday, and thought about Ladera for the killer view.

Now...maybe not....

Or consider the Fox Grove Inn, about 20 minutes from Coconut Bay on the Castries road. Excellent reasonably-priced food and fine views out over Praslin Bay (presently rather disfigured by Le Paradis under construction).

You could combine it with a visit to the nearby very attractive Mamiku Gardens.

I too am a great fan of Debbies, but the location is nothing special.

Balenbouche might also be an option. I haven't been there but it sounds like a nice family atmosphere in a an old-fashioned plantation house.

Definitely agree with Oofy about the Foxgrove Inn, we always stop there on the way back to the airport or stay the night if we can't get into our villa until the next day. The view is fabulous and the food delicious (especially the pumpkin soup)and it's very reasonably priced. Well worth a visit especially, as already mentioned, if you would like to visit Mamiku Gardens (saw a wedding there - what a beautiful spot for one) and stop off at the viewing point over Dennery. The Foxgrove is about 30 minutes drive from Hewannora airport.
