It was very hard finding some accommadation in tobago being a backpacker everything seemed to be quite pricey. But then i happened to stumble upon candles in the wind. It is cheap at only $23USDp-n for the dorm if you stay more than 7 days, which i did. They also have private rooms for a bit more i think its about $40USD per room per night. However i had the massive ´penthouse´i dubbed it as it is on the top floor and i had it all to myself.
It is very well located only about 15 minutes walk from the main airport where you fly into. 5 minutes walk to store bay or pidgeon point beaches, 2 mins walk from a little mini market. or about 20 mins walk to a huge supermarket.
The guesthouse is very very clean and very well equipped if you wanted to cook. They have an air hockey table(free) bicycles to rent(very hard seats but fun doing) and Andrew the owner can arrange tours and trips for you, aswell as moonlighting as a taxi driver if you need to get anywhere. He took care of us very well, when we cycled round part of the island he gave us a mobile phone to call him in case anything happened. He is very knowledgeable and very helpful. If you need anything he is the man to ask.
I had a very enjoyable stay here at candles in the wind and im sure you will too. I can not recommend this guesthouse more highly.
