“Intercontinental Tokyo Bay - beautiful spot”

We spent one night at this hotel at the end of our Japan trip, before flying out the next day. The hotel is beautiful, lovely rooms with great views of the bay and river and Rainbow Bridge. We stayed on the Club floor which included breakfast, drinks, appetizers at dinner hour. The staff was very helpful. We asked for a late checkout and they did not charge us (their standard late checkout charge was 30% of regular rate). This hotel is an excellent value for the money, our rooms were $175US each on the Club floor and were luxurious, beautiful bathrooms. One was a corner room, really nice (of course we gave our 17 year old the other room). One thing to note - while rooms are reasonable, there is extra charge of $18 per day for internet, and a cover charge in the pretty 6th floor bar after 9 PM.
My only caveat about this hotel is the location. Earlier in our trip we had spent a week near Azabu/Roppongi section and had become used to being in the middle of things. The Intercontintental is in a quieter location and it is on a monorail line that it one stop away from the subway. Each of these lines has its own charge, which starts to add up. It is however near the fish marekt, and the river cruise is close by (a very worthwhile cruise) However, from this location there was not much you could walk to and not much for our teenager, whereas in the other area he could walk out on his own to stores, etc.

“Slightly off the beaten path but very fast and easy to get to and from.”

My wife and I booked the room at the Intercontinental Tokyo Bay for a week long vacation stay. The price was very reasonable ($140 weekday and $114 weekend U.S). My wife is a Platinum Priority Club member (which means nothing evidently at this hotel) We requested a non-smoking single queen bed room and were given a smoking room with two full size beds, we also discovered that the Japanese bed sizes are one size smaller than U.S sizes, the small room was spotless and nearly odorless though and very pleasantly appointed, the bathroom was very nice and the view from our room of the bay and Tokyo Tower was fabulous.
We found that a quick 3 minute (2 stops) ride on the New Transit Yurikamome Line train from Takeshiba station is located just a 1 minute walk out of the hotels level 3 main exit then follow the walkway to the left right into the station, cost is 180 and the train stops every 5 minutes for the short ride to Shimbashi station were you can pick up a commuter train or subway to anywhere you need to go or take another short ride 3 minute (2 stops) to Tokyo station were you can catch the Shinkansen trains for the longer journeys. Even though slightly off the beaten path it was extremely easy and enjoyable to get to and from the hotel and made for nice relaxing evenings in the un-crowded hotel and surrounding area, this business district is well located near many popular attractions and just a 15-20 minute walk to the Ginza for shopping and Tokyo Tower.
The hotel staff was a pleasure to work with and were friendly and accommodating, they spoke excellent English, hotel services were fairly reasonably priced, door to door laundry service was just $10 to have a pair of slacks cleaned and pressed (have paid $40 at other hotels), the in-room broadband Ethernet internet service was a bit pricey at about $10 for 30 minutes or $20 for 24 hours. The price to make an ATT international call back to the US (youll see the add on the desk) will run you $2.10 to get a line and then roughly $5.50 per minute.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Tokyo for either business or pleasure and will certainly stay here again in the future.

“Good rate for Tokyo”

InterContinental Hotel Tokyo Bay

Great bathroom as mentioned in an earlier review--lots of amenities including toothbrush, razor. The room has a mini bar, and we had a view of Tokyo Bay, from the side of the hotel.

Service is excellent. Hotel is actually right by a train, the Takeshiba stop on the Yurigamome. This train goes to Odaiba (2 stops away) as well as the Shimbashi JR train station. The hotel is within walking distance of the Hama Rikyu garden and the Hinode pier, where you can catch the boat to Asakusa. We got a good rate for Tokyo; however, there is a 10% service charge that is not included in the rate quoted.

“Excellent Service, Well-Maintained Property”

InterContinental Hotel Tokyo Bay

We booked this hotel for two days through Priceline. We were very pleased with this property. The service here was excellent. And we never tipped because tipping is not the custom in Japan. This seems to be more a hotel for business travellers rather than families, but the hotel staff was patient with our four year old boy. This hotel is located near the Tsukiji Fish Market and the Ginza District, but the nearest subway station is about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the hotel. There is a monorail station which is closer. The room itself was clean and tastefully designed. It was really quite a pleasure to stay here. In fact, we next stayed at a hotel in Korea and were disappointed with the Korean property after having being spoiled by the Intercontinental.

“A Good Hotel With A High Standard Of Service”

Overall my stay here was an enjoyable one. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. The decor was stylish (and neutral) and the room was well equipped and maintained. The best feature was definitely the bathroom with its power shower and unique electronic toilet. A minor negative was the lack of a fitness centre or swimming pool (or not one that I could find). And the hotel did seem a little off the beaten (tourist) track, although it did offer good views of the river. Finally, considering Tokyo hotels have a reputation for being too small and too expensive, I thought the hotel measured up quite well on both counts.
